Welcome to e-Manual Labor. These terms explain how our marketplace works while we are in our early beta. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read the payment section carefully, since payments are handled a little differently during beta.
e-Manual Labor is an online marketplace that connects people who need manual-labor work done (“Customers”) with independent skilled workers who perform that work (“Skilled Workers”). We help you find each other, agree on a job, and document the work. We are not a construction company, contractor, or employer of Skilled Workers. Skilled Workers are independent and are not employees or agents of e-Manual Labor.
The service is currently in beta and is offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features may change, and parts of the experience — including automated in-app payments — are still being built. We may update or pause features while we improve the platform.
During beta, payments are processed manually by e-Manual Labor rather than automatically in the app:
Customers are responsible for describing their job accurately and for reviewing and approving completed work in good faith. Skilled Workers are responsible for performing work competently, safely, and in line with what was agreed, and for carrying any licenses, insurance, and permits required for their trade and location. Each user is responsible for their own taxes.
The agreement to perform a job is between the Customer and the Skilled Worker. e-Manual Labor is not a party to that agreement and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or completion of any work. If a dispute arises, we may try to help the two sides reach a resolution, but we are not obligated to and we are not liable for the outcome.
You must provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and be responsible for activity under your account. You must be legally able to enter into contracts to use the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, e-Manual Labor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or from any job arranged through it. Our total liability for any claim relating to a job is limited to the platform fee we actually collected on that job.
We may update these terms as the service grows out of beta — including when automated payments launch. If we make material changes, we will make the updated terms available here.
